Baked Falafel Platter
Long before pizza, tacos and burgers, there was falafel- A traditional mediterranean dish that’s been enjoyed for centuries. It’s been a popular street food in Israel, and has made its way to the states as an equally popular street food. Falafel is made out of chickpeas soaked overnight, ground up and seasoned with onions, garlic, fresh herbs, and spices like cumin, coriander and cardamom. This meatless option is perfect for vegans and vegetarians, while full of nutrients like fiber, protein, folate, and low in sodium and saturated fat. FINALLY we’ve got one for the vegans! (crowd cheers) While falafel traditionally is deep fried, we’ve cut the fat by baking them in a super hot convection oven to execute the crispy exterior that falafel lovers enjoy. Paired in platter form with crunchy romaine, roasted red peppers, juicy grape tomatoes, grilled zucchini, a dollop of hummus dusted with smoked paprika and our house made lemon tahini vinaigrette. Heat your balls only! Enjoy Freshies!
